Mackie's Slip offered by Dogwood Ceramic Supply

Mackie's Slip, properly described as M-1 Mackie's White Earthenware Ceramic Casting Slip manufactured by Mackie Newton Ceramics Inc., is a superior, premixed, earthenware (ceramic) slip with minimal shrinkage and extremely good greenware strength. Mackie's Ceramic Slip complies with ASTM-D4236, and is rated NONTOXIC and is fully compatible with the nontoxic glazes available from Duncan, Gare and Spectrum. Mackies Ceramic Slip is nearly pure white when properly fired to Cone 04 maturity and nearly matches Standard's 105 White Earthenware clay in color. Mackie's Ceramic Slip should only be fired from Cone 04 to Cone 06 to insure compatibility with all major brands of glaze and underglazes.

Mackie's Ceramic Slip is packaged in 2 gallon boxes, premixed and ready for casting. A single 2 gallon box of slip weighs approximately 30 lbs. A full pallet of Mackie's Ceramic Slip is 80 boxes (160 gallons), and weighs 2450 pounds including the weight of the pallet. To minimize handling, all bulk slip purchases must be in increments of 80 boxes.

Dogwood Ceramic Supply provides a loading area and forklift service for truck loading bulk slip purchases. For smaller purchases, or when the customer is unable to accept palletized loads, the customer is responsible for loading their vehicle.

Published prices are based upon pickup at Dogwood Ceramic Supply's warehouse in Gulfport MS. Customer is responsible for any UPS or freight charges to their location. See note regarding UPS shipments of casting slips. Dogwood Ceramic Supply strongly recommends all slip quantities greater than 10 boxes to be shipped via motor freight to minimize handling costs and potential for damages during shipping. For freight rates across the Southern United States please refer to Dogwood's freight rate table. Casting Slips are freight Class 55 which are 10% higher than the published Class 50 rates.

* Truck load quantities vary depending upon the equipment used to transport the slip and load regulations. Truck load prices exclude shipping or pallet costs, and shipping costs are dependant upon distance traveled and additional services required by the customer. Due to all variables an exact total price can not be predetermined for Truck Load quantities. Half Truck Loads and Export Container quantities are also available.

Effective January 2006, Dogwood Ceramic Supply will make quarterly adjustments on the price of all slips and clays, should the need arise. The prices posted on the web pages and in the showroom for each specific product will be updated as needed at the beginning of each quarter. No additional announcement will be made. These quarterly adjustments will avoid the large annual increases that were common in the past.

    Dogwood Ceramic Supply is the largest distributor of Mackie's Slips in North America and routinely handles less than truck load quantities, pallet quantities and all smaller purchases out of our Gulfport Mississippi warehouse.
